BI NEW LogoFrom the 26th to the 28th of June 2020 in the office of the Association at 6 Racho Dimchev Street was held the training in mental arithmetic first level CLEVER. The training was conducted in compliance with all epidemiological measures, which limited the number of participants to 12. 11 of them were from formal education, teachers with different profiles and from different stages of education, as well as with different subjects taught and 1 representative of non-formal education.

Despite the unusual situation, the UP2B project partnership continues the work on the project implementation!
Last friday, we had an online meeting with our partners in order to discuss what we've done until this moment and how we can organize our future activities considering the impact of Covid-19 pandemic at national and international level.

The partnership decided to ask the Portuguese National Agency for a prorogation of the project with 6 additional months. In event this request is accepted, it will take the ending date of the project to the 29th December 2022 (instead of the current 29th/June/2022) which will also allow to have one additional school period to test/use the outputs.

The next steps before the partnership will be the development of the networking platform and teaching tools repository - IO1 – ‘School & Job’ Community of Practice (CoP) and Active Repository of Teaching Tools and IO2 – ‘School & Job’ Matching Handbook, covering the widest range possible of school subjects (STEM, Arts, Sports, Citizenship, and other).

The next face to face partnership meeting was planned for 12th-13th October 2020 in Riga, Latvia. Due to the uncertain situation regarding international travel, it will be postponed.

More information could be found on the project website: https://up2b.eu/

DROP IN logo CopyThe main aim behind DROP’IN project is to test the effectiveness of non-formal methods in learning about school subjects and transferring knowledge. DROP IN is in line with the recommendations of the EU working group on early school leaving, which states for example that “research shows that a caring relationship between teacher and student is the strongest factor in school attendance and success” while at the same time enhancing traditional teaching methods. But teachers today are facing new challenges and are seeing their role expanded to include supporting students. In order to help students to stay motivated, and therefore hooked, DROP IN proposes to support teachers in this mission by introducing and training them to the methods and techniques of non-formal education.

BI NEW LogoThe project partnership meeting scheduled for the end of May in Italy has been replaced by an online one for obvious reasons, which does not mean, however, that it will not take place at all. Time will tell if there will be a possibility for such by the end of the project.

During the meeting were discussed all the details of the project, both already completed and forthcoming, for the implementation of which possible problems may arise only in the Multiplier events for dissemination of results, due to the different severity of the bans in different countries.
