JudEx+ Collaborates with Cyprus Police
"Hope For Children" CRC Policy Center organized 4 days of training in the framework of the JudEx+ programme for 76 neighborhood police officers on child-friendly proceedings in cases of child sexual violence against children. The training sessions took place at the Cyprus Police Academy following an invitation of the Cyprus Police and are a follow-up to the initial JudEx+ trainings first implemented in Cyprus in May 2017. The programme is contributing to building the capacity of "front line" professionals to communicate with child victims of sexual violence.
JudEx+ Programme
Throughout May and June, the JudEx+ programme has been implemented across Europe. The training programme is a forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences on child-friendly judicial proceedings in cases of sexual violence against children, encouraging professionals to be informed, collaborate, and take into consideration the rights and needs of children in all stages of the proceedings.
Know and Can Association has the pleasure to invite you to take part in a training seminars in the frame of project „JudEx+: Towards a child-friendly justice in cases of sexual violence against children“ № JUST/2014/RCHI/AG/PROF/7036, which will be held on the following dates:
12-13.06.2017 – Pernik (Bulgaria)
19-20.06.2017 – Sofia, (Bulgaria)
The seminars are aimed at teachers, trainers, psychologists, pedagogical counselors and other pedagogical staff, representatives of NGOs and educational institutions and other stakeholders. During the events representatives of Know and Can Association will present the innovative Professional capacity development programme on child-friendly communication in judicial proceedings in cases of sexual violence against children. The main aim of the event is to provide improved preparation of multidisciplinary teams of professionals to help children victims of violence in order to better serve the needs of children.
The project is funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme of the European Union and its lifetime is 2 years – October 2015 till September 2017.
Judex+ Training Programme
JudEx+ training programme will be offered locally in each of the Partner countries between March and May 2017. The local training events will be an occasion for professionals to exchange practice and knowledge with other practitioners, and to approach the topic of child-friendly justice in cases of sexual violence against children from a multidisciplinary approach. Fifty professionals from law enforcement, healthcare, education and other sectors who work with children victims or at risk will be invited to take part in the local event. All partners will be implementing the training bewteen April and May.

Activities
To raise awareness on child-friendly the judicial framework among specialized legal practitioners and professionals closely working with children in cases of sexual abuse.
Activities
To develop, pilot and implement a transnational and multidisciplinary training programme on child friendly -justice in cases of sexual violence against children for legal practitioners, police officers and welfare services’ staff on child-friendly justice in countries where the Lanzarote Convention has been recently ratified.
