Between February 20th and 22nd 2019 the first meeting of the international and intercontinental project on social entrepreneurship and innovative solutions took place.
A non-standard venue was chosen for the kick off meeting - the Petrohan Khan, on the ridge of the Balkan Mountains, where in a peaceful environment, without the hustle and bustle of the city, participants in the surrounding silence could rest from the long road and fully participate in the discussion and decision making of the project.
The project brings together organizations from 8 countries 4 from Europe - two from Bulgaria, Belgium and Spain and 4 from South America - Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile. On the first day, the participants presented their organizations with their strengths, and the contribution they can make to the implementation of the project. The project also aims to increase the popularity of social entrepreneurship, its impact, importance and the opportunities it offers for the personal and professional development of young people, especially those from marginalized groups.
The second day was dedicated to discussions on the specific activities, timetables, as well as presentation, comments and approval of organizational, financial rules for the project. To achieve these goals, an innovative online e-learning platform will be developed to support this mobile application for social entrepreneurs, to motivate future young entrepreneurs selected video stories of successful social entrepreneurship practices and examples will be done. A theoretical and practical training course for youth workers will also be held. The continental differences and benefits of social entrepreneurship will be seen in 2 stages of mobility for the exchange of experience, through job shadowing for youth workers from Europe and Latin America. On the basis of everything described, training courses on social entrepreneurship for young people at local, regional and national level are foreseen.
The third meeting day was dedicated to presentations and discussions of administrative, technical and financial specifics of the project implementation. The requirements of the Erasmus+ programme were presented alongside a comprehensive Financial and administrative guide elaborated by the project coordinator Know and Can Association especially to ease the project partnership.
Nature decided to make an unexpected present for the participants from latin America in the form of heavy snow – just a continental difference!.
