From 22nd to 28th June 2019 in Valdivia, Chile, training for youth workers in social entrepreneurship, its impact, importance and opportunities for the personal and professional development of young people, especially those from marginalized groups, took place. The theoretical program was very diverse and interesting. Although many Europeans have passed through the city over the centuries and left their architectural, cultural and social footprint, we were impressed by the extremely high environmental standards that were also part of the projects presented during the training - many of them even implemented others challenging ideas.
A brief overview of the training topics – Social Awareness, Theoretical Workshops, Combined Theoretical and practical activities conducted both in the office and in the city. Variety of contemporary challenges were discussed and how in Chile they are solved or will be solved were presented – Validation Methodologies and business modeling, Design thinking approach for social entrepreneurship, B Corporations and B certification, Impact measurement and theory of change.
In addition to the theoretical part, there was a wealth of practical ones - with visits and talks to socially-oriented entrepreneurial structures from different spheres of economy and social assistance (Emprendizaje center, Techo). Despite the second largest standard in South America, Chile, especially in the more remote and southern sparsely populated areas, there are serious constraints on the development of social entrepreneurship, a challenge that successfully combats the implementation of environmental projects supported locally and nationally.
