Name: Math & Motivation Basic skills of different degrees of complexity are becoming increasingly important to enable full participation in all aspects of modern life. Deficits of basic skills (literacy, math & science) result in dropping out from school of young people and in consequence, their bad situation at the labour market, poverty and social exclusion. The EU’s plan for tackling early school leaving aims to reduce the average drop-out rate to below 10% by 2020. To give their contribution to this ambitious goal, eight organisations (schools and training providers) from 7 EU countries developed the idea for the project “Math & Motivation”. The aim of the M&M project is to improve basic skills of secondary school students in the sphere of maths and sciences and reduce dropout rate in Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain. The innovation that M&M project is planning to offer is the combination of three innovative teaching methods (self/peer learning, gamification and flipped learning) into one complex Collaborative methodology. |

The Collaborative Methodology is an effective method developed by the project partners in "Math&Motivation" project. The methodology includes combination of proven teaching methods into one complex tool. It combines three basic methods: self/peer learning, elements of gamification and flipped learning into one, which in consequence leads to encouragement and motivation. With its use the students will learn more difficult subjects with less efforts, motivation will be higher, class climate better.
A training course under project “ Math & Motivation ” was held from 4th till 10th March 2018 in Pontedera, Italy. The project is financed under Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 (No. 2017-1-BG01-KA201-036220). The event was hosted by the Italian project partner Istituto Statale E.Montale and was attended by 32 participants from the 7 partner countries (Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Romania and Portugal).
