Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 which caused uncertainty, lots of young people experienced feelings of fear and were not able to react accordingly. One of the most affected is children at schools, teachers, and partners who spent a lot of time in isolation and in distance from family and friends and had to adapt to online learning for an undefined time. E-MotiOn project consists of the development of 60 creative activities kit for children aged 10-12 years to develop creativity as a fundamental skill necessary to acquire RESILIENCE, to know how to manage FEAR, to know how to assume RISKS and to manage STRESS in a creative way. These 60 creative activities will be classified into three creativities: LINGUISTIC, ARTISTIC, and MUSICAL CREATIVITY. By educating in creativity, the E-MotiOn project will offer innovative informal methods of teaching for teachers, making the school curriculum more attractive and inclusive for all students.
Based on the carried studies prior to the preparation of the project the partner schools 84 Elementary School “Vasil Levski” (BG), Liceul Teoretic”Grigore Moisil” (RO), Carlos V school (ES), OS MIHE PINTARJA TOLEDA (SI) teachers and other teaching professionals observed that due to the situation generated by COVID- 19 the level of demotivated pupils has increased, especially in areas where social inclusion is not adequately fostered by creative thinking. E-MotiOn project will improve teaching practice, enriching the current school environment in Europe by incorporating new methodologies, experiences, and knowledge from all parties involved in this project. Encouraging creativity in children is essential, as it helps them to express themselves, develops abstract thinking and problem-solving skills. What is the relationship between emotions and creativity? Through emotions, we feel in harmony and 'tune in' to our own being and in our interpersonal relationships. Emotions permeate our existence and although there is some effort to ignore them they are determinant in the daily life of schools, in the 'classroom climate', in how teaching and learning take place, and in letting creativity flow. The conducted studies by the Organization for Human Brain Mapping show that education is paying increasing attention to the influence of emotions on learning and the development of creative capacity. Many teachers want to support and guide students to develop their creativity, to 'think creatively', and to exercise 'creative ways of thinking. Thus, E-MotiOn advocates for innovative and motivational training activities aiming to result in effective teaching in which pupils put into practice their inner creativity for the acquisition of resilience, fear management, risk-taking, and stress management. In line with the strategic priorities of the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), E-MotiOn highlights the importance of transformation to digital education.
