The exchange of senior volunteers within the framework of project „Developing Expertise and Skills” (DESK), 2012-1-GB2-GRU14-085832, implemented by Know and Can Association, Bulgaria and Dacorum CVS, the United Kingdom, ended successfully .

 On the 28-th of March 2014 four Bulgarian senior volunteers departed for Hemel Hempstead, the United Kingdom, where they participated actively in the activities of Dacorum CVS. They were met at the airport from representatives of the Hosting organization and afterwards were brought to their hotel. Dacorum staff supported the volunteers in their working tasks as well as in personal matters during their stay. The working tasks of the senior volunteers included office work, administrative work, work with customers, sales, organization of events and activities, etc. Their voluntary service ended on the 18-th of April 2014 and they arrived successfully in Bulgaria on the same day.

According to a national survey in Bulgaria for 2011 about 45 % of the Bulgarian families have access to Internet. The most active Internet users are young people (from 16 to 24 years old) which represent 80 % of all Bulgarians that use Internet. Referring to people aged between 65 and 74 years old, we can see that just 6.2 % of them can work with a computer.

On the 28-th of February 2014 four people were approved to depart to the United Kingdom as senior volunteers under the project “Developing Expertise and Skills” (DESK) , 2012-1-GB2-GRU14-085832, which is implemented by Know and Can  Association and Dacorum CVS.

SMAT project - a special award for Good Practice

project.smatOn the 12-th of March 2014, project SMAT- Social Media and Adult Trainings (GRU-12–P–LP –30 –CJ–DE), in which Know and Can Association is a partner, was selected as a Good Practice in the Project proposals, studies and methodologies category.
The award was announced on a ceremony organized by Design for All Foundation in Paris.

THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS IS OVER!

On the 20-th of February 2014 the selection of candidates that will go to the United Kingdom as volunteers started. This is conducted under project “Developing Expertise and Skills” (DESK), 2012-1-GB2-GRU14-085832, implemented by Know and Can Association together with Dacorum CVS.

During the recruitment of applicants the requirements were stressed by the Hosting organization Dacorum CVS: candidates should possess the relevant experience- work in an office, administrative work, working with people, experience in the field of sales, organization of events and activities, marketing or/and voluntary activities. There was no limit of maximum age and requirements for appurtenance to a certain race, class, religion, gender or other discriminative criteria.

"Know and Can" Association recruit three volunteers aged over 50 project DESK

Within the framework of the “Developing Expertise and Skills – DESK” project Know and Can Association is looking for three senior  volunteers over 50 years old that should possess at least primary knowledge in English language and be able to depart in March 2014. They should will spend three weeks in the United Kingdom.

GIVE - Kick-off meeting of the testing of LMS platform within project “Guidance in Vocational Education for students in rural areas

On the 28-th of November 2013, in the town of Smolyan, the kick-off meeting of the testing of LMS platform by VET professionals within European project GIVE, was held. The project is funded by sector program Leonardo de Vinci, Transfer of innovations within Lifelong Learning Program. Its activities are implemented in Bulgaria, Poland, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. The project’s main aim is to improve knowledge and skills of the VET professionals working with young people from rural areas by the creation of an innovative training platform integrated with social media.
