From the 14th to 18th of March the CSI week in Bulgaria which is a part of Euro4Science project was held.

euro4science.logoFrom the 14th to 18th of March the CSI week in Bulgaria which is a part of Euro4Science project was held.  The event was very interesting, funny, useful for the students and full with variety of interactive activities. It started on Monday with cultural activities in 2nd High School “Acad. Emilian Stanev”. Twelve students from the UK and ten from Portugal were hosted by the school staff and youth who were dressed with traditional costumes, had brought traditional food and played Bulgarian folklore music. Special welcome programme was prepared in order to familiarize the visiting students with Bulgarian culture and the traditions of the school.

The week continued with series of activities dedicated to science as workshops, Lab test, discussions and meetings with professionals working in the sphere. The toolbox was put in practice and all the students had the opportunity to discuss their opinion and their thoughts about the project and project materials and activities. The students wrote interesting crime stories with science elements, watched forensic science videos and discussed different bioethical issues.

An excursion in the city of Plovdiv was organized for the hosted students and they visited a lot of paces with high cultural and historical importance for the country.

Large dissemination event was also held during the SCI week. It was held in the “EU House” and was attended by school and university students, teachers, representatives of the Regional Inspectorate of Education and citizens. During the events, the project, its outputs, activities and partners were presented. The students from Bulgaria, UK and Portugal who took part in the SCI week had the opportunity to share their experience and opinion about the projects in front of the audience.

Guided visit of the Sofia city center and the National Museum of Natural History were organized for the end of a very pleasant week in Sofia.

The project “Euro4Science : Exploring « CSI Effect » and Forensic Sciences to boost the appeal of  science to young people and reinforce interdisciplinarity in European high schools”, with project number 2014-1-PT01-KA200-001012 is financed by the Erasmus+ Programme/KA2/.
