Hello UPthEM project!

UPthEM Logo 01The Europe 2020 strategy is the EU’s agenda for growth and jobs for the current decade. It emphasises smart, sustainable and inclusive growth as a way of strengthening the EU economy and making it resilient towards forthcoming challenges. Employment is one of the key policy components of the Europe 2020 strategy. Decent employment for all EU citizens is crucial for ensuring adequate living standards. On top of contributing to quality of life and social inclusion of individuals, it also improves the well-being of the society as a whole, which makes it one of the cornerstones of socioeconomic development.

The overall objective of UPthEM (UPSKILLING PATHWAYS FOR EMPLOYABILITY) project is to contribute to the achievement of the above-mentioned goals. In the period November 2019 – April 2021 we and our partners from CWEP (Poland), ADES Curtea de Arges (Romania), GROWTHCOOP (Spain), Stimmuli for social change (Greece) and Association Danube River Municipalities "Danube" (Bulgaria) will create an innovative training program for adult educators aiming at empowerment employment among disadvantaged people.

The core work on the project will start with the activities under intellectual output 1 UPthEM training programme. In the next weeks all partner will implement a desk research in order to provide a state of the art/current situation on existing policies, practices and aspects of fostering entrepreneurship among disadvantaged groups with emphasis on adult learning. The results from the surveys will serve as a stepping stone for the creation of the training programme. Its aim is to empower disadvantaged learners to become either successfully employed or engaged in an autonomous entrepreneurship/business activity and also to develop the competences of adult educators who work with disadvantaged adults. The contents of the program will be mainly divided in: learning outcomes framework; modules on different themes and UPthEM facilitators’ guidelines.

During the lifetime of the project and in the frame of IO2 all partners will create video stories with good practices. The people who will appear in the digital stories should be successful entrepreneurs in order to serve as good example and inspiration for the disadvantaged people. The videos should be short and motivating.
