Quality learning experience - Quality active ageing

QAA aims are to enhance the provision and quality of learning opportunities for seniors through like minded partners coming together to showcase their current provision, provide a forum for new ideas, identify and promote good practice. It is important, increased longevity is coupled with quality of life through active ageing and steps are taken to ensure through healthy living that older citizens remain independent as long as possible and contribute to society. Remaining active can reduce the likelihood of dementia (which is an increasing concern across Europe) and other health conditions.

The project is funded under Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Strategic Partnership (Project no: 2016-1-UK01-KA204-024571). Quality Learning Experience = Quality Active Ageing (QAA) is a 3 years strategic partnership project which started in October 2016. The project is funded by Erasmus + Adult Education and involves 7 organisations from 7 European countries: Community Action Dacorum from (UK) the lead partner, Jaunpils Novada Dome (Latvia), Know and Can Association (Bulgaria), Social Innovation Fund  (Lithuania), Active Citizens Partnership (Greece), Replay Network (Italy), Fundacion Escuela de Solidaridad (Spain).  The organisations taking part in the project are from across sectors and are looking forward to working together.  The 1st partner meeting is taking place in Rome Italy where all partners will come together to agree the action plan and discuss how the project will be delivered.
Lifelong learning is an important contributor to active ageing and ensures that people stay active, have a sense of purpose, do not become socially isolated (with impacts on mental health) and increase their circle of friends to rely upon. The project will research these links from a community perspective and promote how to maximise the positive outcome that result. This strategic project brings together partners with a commitment to working pro-actively and creatively with the project target group and putting in practice ways to engage and motivate older people in active learning. The project focus in supporting older people to learn transcend country boundaries and a transnational approach proved added value and learning opportunities, which will be maximised through effective dissemination and sustainability.
