Three members of Know and Can Association took part in the training course “SPLUSІІ”, which was held between the 7-th and 15-th of March 2015 in Marvao, Portugal. The training was organized under Key Action 1 of the Erasmus + programme and was attended by 26 youth workers from Bulgaria, Italy, United Kingdom, Croatia, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Portugal and Estonia.
The topics of the training included: promotion of the reflection about the role of youth workers as part of present and future Europe. The TC will raise awareness about the need for further developing a people-centred Europe thus promoting active citizenship.
The project arose from the idea to provide those working in the field of youth with innovative and different tools that would contribute to tackling issues such as social exclusion and discrimination in their daily work. Another aim of the project was to combat racism and any kind of behaviour leading to exclusion. Sport was analyzed as a tool for the development of social and personal skills that could be used by participants in their work, especially with disadvantaged youth.
