Career counseling

 

Career counselling originated in the USA in the 90’s of the XX century. In many cases making the right decision about the choice of profession is not an easy one and help from a professional is needed.

The choice of a profession is a self-cognitive process. That is why the process of vocational guidance and career counselling is a process of personal support, guiding and facilitating aimed to help the choice of the most suitable career development.

Know and Can career consultants have elaborated programs for vocational guidance and career counselling which are a system of assessment of the personal potential and motivation in connection with different professional areas, suitability, temper and values of the client.

The programs for vocational guidance and career counselling are suitable for students (13-18 years old) and adults (over 18 years old) and are offered in three versions.

  1. Extended vocational guidance and career counselling program – three sessions with career counselor (60 min duration each). The consultations are organized with at least one week interval between them.
  2. Short vocational guidance and career counselling program – personal (60 min.) consultation with a career counselor.
  3. Short vocational guidance and career counseling program – online (90 min.) consultation with a career counselor.

 

Extended program
First session – 60 min. duration

  1. Client and consultant presentation
  2. Defining the way in which the consultation will be held
  3. Standard interviews
  4. Practical tasks for the client with self-cognitive purpose

Second session– 60 min. duration

  1. Practical tasks assessment analysis and index evaluation of creativity and enterprise.
  2. Formal assessment methods - fulfilling two questionaries for spheres of interest, determination of the areas of professional realization and determination of the psychological type of the client.
  3. Informal assessment methods (projective methods), aiming additional information for the psychological profile of the client

Third session – 60 min. duration

  1. Written individual career assessment of the client.
  2. Assessment discussion and questions
  3. Non formal methods for additional determination of potential professional areas
  4. Practical information for skills development
  5. Feedback from the client

 

Short program
Personal consultation (60 min.)

  1. Mutual introducing of the client and the consultant
  2. Determining the way in which the consultation will be organised
  3. Conducting a standardized interview
  4. Applying of formal method of estimation (questionnaire)
  5. Feedback from the client
  6. The client receives an electronic or paper version of the written individual career assessment
  7. Detailed analysis of the career assessment (upon request; subject of additional payment)

 

Online consultation (90 min.)

  1. Mutual introducing of the client and the consultant
  2. Determining the way in which the consultation will be organised
  3. Conducting a standardized interview
  4. The client receives via email two questionnaires which he fills in and sends back to the consultant.
  5. The client receives an electronic or paper version of the written individual career assessment
  6. Organisation of additional online meeting for further analysis of the career assessment (upon request; subject of additional payment)
